The best iptv applications

The best IPTV Applications

IPTV applications are somewhat similar to Kodi; they are empty shells that cannot broadcast any content without the contribution of some users. You are responsible for adding channels, playlists and other resources.

Usually, you cannot use the applications to watch Netflix, Hulu or live content from other providers. You must get the M3U file, which you add to the IPTV application.

1-IPTV Smarters Pro

If you subscribe to a paid IPTV service, chances are the provider will give you access to a branded version of the Smarters Pro IPTV application. This is the preferred program of many distributors.

However, you don’t need to rely on a branded version. As long as you have your provider’s M3U URL, you can add it to the application and enjoy all the same features. Even better, this “white label” version of Smarters Pro can accept multiple connections, while the branded versions usually cannot.

The application supports on-demand movies and TV shows, as well as catch-up channels, if your service provider offers them. It integrates with external video players (such as Perfect Player and VLC) if you prefer to use their respective interfaces.

IPTV Smarters Pro is great on mobile, but it really shines on a TV. It’s definitely one of the must-have IPTV applications for Android TV devices.

2-Lazy IPTV

Lazy Android iptv application
Lazy IPTV supports M3U playlists in Open View, ZIP and GZ formats. The application can also read playlists in XSPF (Shareable XML Playlist Format).
It is easy to add new content to Lazy IPTV. You can access media on your local file system, as well as paste URLs directly from the web or from your device’s clipboard. The application works with HTTP and UDP streams and can play videos directly from YouTube and VK social network. There is also a built-in audio player for Internet radio channels.
More importantly for an IPTV application, Lazy IPTV supports electronic program guides (EPGs). It can play XMLTV ETV files recorded in Open View, ZIP or GZ format.
From a usability point of view, Lazy IPTV allows you to add favorites, supports nested folders and allows you to create groups of playlists. You can export your playlists if you decide to switch to another application. The application’s home screen is also fully customizable, offering the ability to add shortcuts to the most viewed channels and change the way content is displayed.
Lazy IPTV is ideal for mobile devices. However, it is less suitable for larger Android TV screens.

3-TiviMate

In our opinion, TiviMate is the best IPTV application for Android TV comfortably. It is not available in portable version.
The application supports multiple playlists, renaming channels and categories and hidden categories. You can import logos for your own channels, customize the order in which channels appear in the TV Guide and take advantage of the search function (which works for both channel names and current shows).
The free version of TiviMate is sufficient for people with a single playlist who do not watch it often. If you are an IPTV user, you need to upgrade to the pro version. This costs $4.99 per year and allows you to install the application on up to five devices.

4-GSE Smart IPTV

GSE Smart IPTV is one of the most popular IPTV applications on the Google Play Store, and with good reason. First of all, it’s one of the best IPTV applications designed for Android devices. Its clean design and cable TV-like EPG layout make it easy to forget you’re even using an application.
Second, GSE Smart IPTV has many more platforms than most of its competitors. You will find versions for Android, Android TV, iOS and Apple TV. The application is also Chromecast compatible. And don’t forget that you can even install Android applications on Amazon Fire TV devices if you know how to avoid APK files.
In terms of functionality, GSE Smart IPTV supports EPG content in XML, ZIP and GZ formats. It also provides support for parental controls and subtitles (SRT files). It can play live broadcasts from HTTP, HSL, M3U8, MMS, RTSP, and RTMP sources. The app is supported by advertising and is suitable for both Android TV and Android mobile devices.

5-OTT Navigator

OTT Navigator is the largest IPTV competitor of TiviMate for Android TV. Like TiviMate, it is very popular among experienced users.
There is a slight difference between them. Both applications share many similar features. OTT Navigator supports filters (by channels, categories, genres, seasons, years, favorite channels, ratings and countries), channel customization, categories and search tool.
From our point of view, the TiviMate interface is more modern and the user interface is more user friendly, but you might think differently. Be sure to check both options before selecting the best IPTV application for your needs.
